Joan Pons, born in Ferreries, Menorca, in 1960, the year of Albert Camus’ death. He is one of the few writers in Catalan, perhaps the only one, who is part of international or national anthologies for his short stories, novels or poems. Co-founder of the magazine Post-al, considered by the newspaper El País one of the first examples of cyberpunk in Spain, he has won the awards Joan Ramis i Ramis for Nàufrags, Joaquim Ruyra for Remant cap al sol, Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana for Homes sols and Ciutat d’Alzira for La casa de gel. His work has been translated into Spanish, French and Russian.
