GARI ARAMBARRI
My work starts from the attentive observation of reality and is articulated through experience. I am interested in how we relate to objects through non-verbal forms, from language, space and image. I seek to find these own codes through minimal gestures, from an ergonomics to the other way around, to translate them into a position where they can work from their material possibilities. All this is reflected in sculptural and audiovisual pieces where the body is a center of perception from which to deploy questions related to what is close, pleasure and experience.
Gari Arambarri (Azkoitia, 1997) is an artist. She has been trained in the degree in Art History and in the master’s degree in contemporary technological and performative art, both at the University of the Basque Country, and at the JAI Institute of Artistic Practices, in Tabakalera. He is currently participating in the Articulations study programme at IVAM.
He has carried out residencies and exhibited individually and collectively in various spaces in Spain and Argentina, such as the BilbaoArte Foundation, Tabakalera, Sala Rekalde, Galeria Gachi Prieto, Centre Cultural Koldo Mitxelena, Sala El Brocense, Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sabadell, etc. His work has also been selected and subsidized thanks to various institutional aids and audiovisual development programs.
