STRIPART 2022 ART RESIDENCY

LORENA RUIZ PELLICERO (1991, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona)

Lorraine Ruiz Pellicero (1991) is a visual artist from Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona) who mainly uses photography and video art. He works with everyday objects and spaces, allowing him to play in a space between reality and fiction, in the world of double senses and metaphors. He seeks humor and poetry in the elements inanimate to somehow humanize them. She believes that in a world where everything is symbolized, the division between the complex and the absurd is dissolved in the momentary sense.

Graduated in Audiovisual Communication, in 2015 she holds the Master of Contemporary Photography at the EFTI school in Madrid, where she began to develop her first photographic projects. After a few years collaborating as a graphic editor and press photographer, she has focused on her individual and collaborative artistic practice in recent years. His works have been part of several national and international venues, including two solo exhibitions, at the Photogen Festival (2018) and the Can Castells Art Centre (2021) and several group exhibitions in Spain, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Vietnam.
