JANSKY
The electroverse duo formed by Laia Malo (poet, translator) and Jaume Reus (ecoacoustician, producer, flutist) research and experiment with soundscapes, music, and words, from Rampa Lab. Their projects include Parella: opera minorica (Illes d’Art, 2016), a techno orchestra of birds around the local myth of Atlantis; Insecta Dance Music (MMVV/IEB, 2022), composed with samplers of Balearic insect sounds, and awarded Sound Of The Year by the BBC3/MoS; the site-specific Peu/Cloc-Cloc/Tris-Tras/Trap…, exploring crafts vs. industry (Museu del Calçat/Teatre Principal Inca, 2023); or Nova Volta (Museu Marítim de Mallorca/Coves del Drac, 2024) from coastal, cave and boat sounds; and art-science projects, like the pioneer Sound Guide of Pollinators, Buzzings (IMEDEA/CSIC, 2022), presented in ambisonic at the Venice Art Biennale 2024.
