J\u00daLIA CATAL\u00c0 BENEJAM<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n

Born in Ciutadella, Menorca, in 1991, J\u00falia Catal\u00e0 Benejam has lived in Barcelona for seventeen years. She holds a degree in Catalan Philology, a master\u2019s degree in Advanced Studies in Catalan Language and Literature, and in Cultural Management, and a PhD in Linguistic, Literary and Cultural Studies with the dissertation La poesia neom\u00edstica<\/i> of Joan Vinyoli. Una Lectura<\/em> of Llibre d\u2019amic and Cants d\u2019Abelone<\/em>. Since 2016 she has worked at the Instituci\u00f3 de les Lletres Catalanes.<\/p>\n

She has written articles for journals and media such as Reduccions<\/em>, Veus baixes<\/em>, Haid\u00e9<\/em>, El Proc\u00e9s<\/em>, Catorze Cultura<\/em>, and for the \u201cB\u00e8sties\u201d series published by Edicions Poncianes, and has attended courses and workshops at the Escola Bloom, the Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Brossa \u2013 Centre de les Arts Lliures, Llibreria Finestres, and Llibreria No Llegiu.<\/p>\n

She has been the winner and finalist of several literary awards, including the Francesc de Borja Moll Prize, the Contarella Children\u2019s Literature Prize, Ficcions, and the Illa de Menorca Short Story Prize in the category for writers under 25.<\/p>\n

She is currently a member of the selection committee for the \u00d2mnium Prize for Best Novel of the Year, is working on the critical edition of The Complete Poetic Works of Merc\u00e8 Rodoreda<\/i> together with Dr. Marina Gust\u00e0, and is developing a first novel after receiving a literary creation grant from the Institut d\u2019Estudis Bale\u00e0rics.<\/p>\n
