It will be held at the<\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/casadartistes.esfarcultural.net\/en\/\"> <b>Casa <span style=\"color: #333399;\">d\u2019Artistes<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/span><b> creation centre.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The centre is a space for artistic and cultural research and creation <\/span><b>located in the rural environment outside the village of Es Mercadal (Menorca, Spain)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is a country house where various artists and cultural professionals live and work together for a set period of time. It is in use almost all year round and is managed by<\/span><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/esfarcultural.net\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Es FAR Cultural<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a non-profit organisation based in Menorca.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ARTS AL NORD is aimed at artists from the european Mediterranean islands that are not part of Spain. Its aim is <\/span><b>to create n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ew experimental music or soundworks <\/span><b>centred around the concept of insularity and the relationship between vulnerability and resilience, using their own experiences as either island natives or residents, as well as those obtained from Menorca, the host territory of the AN project, and the collaborations with local entities that take place during the residency.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The residency project has been selected under conditions by Culture Moves Europe, a project funded by the European Union and implemented by Goethe-Institut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>ARTS AL NORD FEATURES<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at<\/span><b> artists from 18 years old originally from or legally resident in one of the european Mediterranean islands from this countries: Malta, France, Italy, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Cyprus.<\/b> <b>Please note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> artists from a Spanish island will not be considered because of the nature of the project.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are considered <\/span><b>not eligible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> artists who have already received a Culture Moves Europe mobility grant, as \u201cparticipant\u201d of a residency project. And also, who have a mobility grant under the Individual Mobility Action for the same project, same purpose and same period.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is intended for <\/span><b>artists who work in the field of experimental music and sound art.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Three artists will be selected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to participate in the residence. The jury will take into account a number of criteria to ensure equality of opportunity among candidates, which are listed below in the section \u201cSelection Criteria\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The<b> residence will be 39 days long<\/b>. <b>Please note:<\/b> artists must be available for the entire duration of the residence, and will also have to spend at least 70% of their time on their chosen project.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Start date:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 12 November 2024.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>End date:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 20 December 2024.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The organisation will provide a <\/span><b>collaborative and supportive environment,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by arranging activities to get to know Menorca and collaborations with other local organisations and offering a mentoring program. <\/span><b>The expected results are:<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> To produce new experimental music or soundworks offering new sights on the proposed theme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> To participate in an open concert or sound performance to show the creations made in the context of the residency. After the show, the artists should share the process of research and creation to generate collective thought with the locals.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The call is subject to changes due to causes outside the organization. In any case, all changes will be duly informed to the participants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>WHAT IS ON OFFER?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Accommodation at Casa d\u2019Artistes.<\/b><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Fully equipped single bedrooms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Bathroom with shower, toilet, towels, washing machine, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Fully equipped kitchen<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Living-dining room with central table, sofas, library, wood-burning stove, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Wifi, water and electricity included<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Please note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the participating artists are expected to share the common areas and workspaces.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Workspaces at Casa d\u2019Artistes.<\/b> All workspaces are shared with the other residents and the Casa d&#8217;Artistes team. They can be used by up to 6-8 people at once:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Wifi, water and electricity included<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Mobility grant:<\/b> provided by the host to the participating artists<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Travel allowance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a fixed amount of \u20ac350 (distance under 5000 km) or \u20ac700 (distance from 5000 km) per participant. It covers both outward and return journeys.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Daily allowance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a fixed amount of \u20ac25 per day per participant, to contribute towards everyday expenses (food, local transport, fees, etc) during their stay. <\/span><b>In total, each artist will receive \u20ac975.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Top-ups:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> additional financial support to be paid to each artist based on their individual situation and needs.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Green top-up:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fixed amount of \u20ac350 per participant who travels more than 600 km one-way, and who uses any mode of transport other than a plane. Both outward and return journeys must be undertaken using sustainable transports.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Visa expenses:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fixed amount of \u20ac80 for expenses connected to visa applications.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Family top-up:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fixed amount of \u20ac100 for participants who have children below the age of 10 during the mobility project.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Disability support:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> up to \u20ac75 per day for participants whose disability affects their ability to carry out their mobile project. Exceptional cases to be discussed with the Casa d\u2019Artistes team.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>APPLICATION TIMELINE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>New deadline:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 31 August 2024<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Final selection and contacting of chosen artists:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 5 September 2024<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Signing of the agreement:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after receiving the confirmation of the Creative Europe programme agreement.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To apply for the ARTS AL NORD residence, you must <\/span><b>submit the following information in English, with the exception of official documents, which will be accepted in their original language.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/9LiHMEhqg8kc8Fhh6\"><b>form<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has to contain the following information:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Personal data<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (first name, last name, contact phone number, email, etc.).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Travel plan<\/b> (where you will start your journey from, and the mode\/s of transport you plan to use).<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">We recommend you to travel from your residency country.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">If you plan to travel with a sustainable transport (option for journeys of more than 600 km one-way), you have to inform about the mode of transport you plan to use.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of <\/span><b>languages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/9LiHMEhqg8kc8Fhh6\"><b>the same form<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you have to<\/span><b> upload the following documents (all in PDF form, one for each section)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Official national identification document (ID, passport or citizen card).\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Proof of legal residence in one of the Creative Europe countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (e.g. residence permit, electricity or water bills, refugee or humanitarian protection status, national identity card or passport, etc.). <\/span><b>Please note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"> the documents must include your full name and address in the country of legal residence.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Proof <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that you were born on one of the<\/span><b> Mediterranean islands in Europe or that you are legally resident in one <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(documentation as above).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Eligibility documents for top-ups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, if applicable:<\/span><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Disability support: official document confirming degree of disability<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Family top-up: family book, birth certificate, document from a legal guardian, copy of child\u2019s passport etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>A CV as a one\/two-page document<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a summary of personal information and contact details, relevant education, and professional experience.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Artistic portfolio. Please note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the portfolio should include samples of current creative work or links to other relevant artworks.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>An outline of the project that includes a<\/b> <b>short letter of motivation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> expressing interest in Arts al Nord residence and the main ideas for a project to be worked on during the residency (one page document).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>SELECTION CRITERIA<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The jury responsible for selecting the successful applicants must take into account a number of criteria to ensure equality of opportunity. These criteria have been established based on the values promoted by Es FAR Cultural, as well as the characteristics of the Casa d&#8217;Artistes space and its plan for equality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Criteria related to the artists and their work:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The central idea of the project and the motivation to participate in the AN project.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Consistency between the artist\u2019s statements and their portfolio.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Coherence between the main idea of the project and mottivation and the portfolio will be looked on favourably. In the event that there is no correlation between the proposal and the previous work, the jury will consider the aspect of risk-taking in the exploration of new working methodologies and realisation techniques.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The professional career of the applicant will be assessed, as well as considering other criteria such as place of residence, nationality, gender or age, among others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of Catalan or Spanish is an advantage, as this will facilitate communication between hosts, mentors and the community of Menorca. <\/span><b>Please note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the organisation also speaks English and Italian.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Criteria related to values:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">All applications will be treated equally; people of all gender identities and backgrounds are welcome to apply.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The artists selected will aim to represent a wide variety of european Mediterranean islands and nationalities of Europe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Any application that shows any form of hate or discrimination towards any person, community or organisation will not be considered.
